Hollywood is full of talented people, and while some may only have a high school diploma, plenty of stars have pursued higher education. These celebrities have impressive degrees, from Ivy League universities to prestigious arts programs.

Emma Watson – Brown University

Emma Watson became a household name thanks to her role as Hermione Granger in the “Harry Potter” film series. However, after the series ended, Watson enrolled at Brown University to pursue her degree. She graduated in 2014 with a degree in English literature.

Ken Jeong – University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University

Ken Jeong may be best known for his comedic roles in movies like “The Hangover” and “Crazy Rich Asians,” but before he became an actor, he was a practicing physician. Jeong earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before attending medical school at Duke University.

Lupita Nyong’o – Yale University

Lupita Nyong’o burst onto the scene with her Academy Award-winning performance in “12 Years a Slave.” However, before she became an actress, Nyong’o attended Yale University, where she earned a master’s degree in acting.

Meryl Streep – Yale University and Vassar College

Meryl Streep is widely regarded as one of the greatest actors of all time. She has been nominated for more Academy Awards than any other actor and has won three. Before she became a Hollywood icon, Streep attended Vassar College for her undergraduate degree and later earned a master’s degree in drama from Yale University.

David Duchovny – Yale University and Princeton University

David Duchovny is best known for his role as Agent Fox Mulder on “The X-Files,” but before he became an actor, he was an accomplished student. Duchovny earned his undergraduate degree from Princeton University before attending Yale University, where he earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in English literature.

Brian May – Imperial College London Brian

May is the guitarist for the legendary rock band Queen, but before he became a rock star, he was a student at Imperial College London. May earned a degree in physics and even went on to earn a Ph.D. in astrophysics

Brian Cox – University of Manchester

Brian Cox is a Scottish actor who has appeared in films such as “Braveheart” and “X-Men 2.” However, he also has a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Manchester and has worked as a researcher at CERN in Switzerland.

Gerard Butler/ Instagram | Intelligence is the ability to adapt to change

Gerard Butler-  University of Glasgow

Gerard Butler is a Scottish actor who has appeared in films such as “300” and “Law Abiding Citizen.” However, he also has a law degree from the University of Glasgow and worked as a trainee lawyer before pursuing his acting career.
